Chapter Business Meeting Jan 15, 2020

The first business meeting of 2020 for the Western Maryland Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society will be held on Wednesday, January 15, at 7 PM in the board room on the second floor of the Allegany Museum, located on the corner of Pershing and South Mechanic streets in Cumberland, Maryland. Members and visitors are requested to park their vehicles in the parking lot on the south side of the museum building and use the south entrance flanked by the concrete ramp way. Take the elevator to the second floor, and then turn right.

President Tom Biery will present his annual address on the current conditions of the Western Maryland Chapter NRHS and its goals for 2020. Among the items of business to consider are the approval of new members and the proposed budget for 2020. Other items will include planning the programs for social meetings and finishing the work of completely securing the historic heavyweight passenger railcar that is now in the WMSR Yard at Ridgeley, West Virginia. One major action for the coming year is continuing to develop the new Cumberland Railroad Museum among the shops at Canal Place into a significant attraction. All chapter members should come and share their thoughts and recommendations about future activities for the Western Maryland Chapter NRHS.
